Why mentor?

Build life skills
Mentors help teens learn practical skills like budgeting, goal setting, and decision-making that prepare them for independence.
-
✽
Offer hope and encouragement
A caring voice can remind young people that their future is full of possibility and worth investing in.
-
✽
Create belonging
Mentors help teens feel seen, valued, and connected, countering the isolation that often comes with foster care.
-
✽
Model healthy relationships
Teens can learn what trust, respect, and encouragement look like in practice.
-
✽
Change the trajectory
A mentor’s influence can open doors to education, jobs, and community, breaking cycles of instability.
